Autumn warm-up sessions

At Haney Soccer Park, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (weather permitting)

• fourth Saturday of August
• first Saturday of September

Please supply shin guards and water for each player you bring to the informal practice sessions. Participating children may feel free to arrive late or leave early as is convenient to your family schedule. No prior soccer experience is necessary for these sessions. The warm-up sessions will proceed unless threat of lightning, severe storm or flooding occurs.

Autumn Soccer season begins:

Soccer starts with some changes this August in Park Hills. A new field will be set south of the small fields at Haney Park for Kindergarten players. Seventh and Eighth graders will play a travel-only schedule of away games this season. Fifth and Sixth graders will form nine-player teams and play on the medium-sized field for 2010.

All this will allow the largest field at Haney Park to become elevated above future flooding and reconditioned for improved play. The Doe Run Company, and the city plan to remediate the large field during 2010 and early 2011 to cover material deposited by past flooding and provide a new surface for safer and superior soccer play. The city plans to have the new field ready for clinics before the regular 2011 soccer season.

Join the league by completing an enrollment form and bringing it with payment to City Hall at 9 Bennett Street. The city soccer organization is a recreational youth league. While game scores are kept for each team by league referees, no division standings are recorded. The object of the league is to provide children with exercise and instruction in the enjoyment of soccer.

Soccer schedules are available by division. Kindergarten and First & Second Grade division schedules apply to the small and medium fields. Third & Fourth Grade division schedules are played on medium field no. 2. Fifth & Sixth Grade schedules will be played on the medium field. The Seventh & Eighth Grade schedules will be played away as traveling teams for the 2010 season. Mineral Area Seventh & Eighth Grade games are shown on this linked schedule. Scheduled games will proceed through inclement weather unless lightning threatens. Thunder audible at the Haney fields will suspend any play or practice there.
