Softball Leagues
Leagues are offered for Summer and Fall, and start in April. The specific leagues are scheduled:
- Men's summer and fall Leagues
- Summer and Fall Church Leagues
- 15 and 18 Yr. Old Girls Summer Fast Pitch Leagues
- Co-ed League
Leagues are sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA).

T-Ball
This league is for children ages 4 to 5 (as ef June 1st), and it provides a lot of fun! Boys and girls are placed on teams and provided a team shirt and cap. This free activity is scheduled from May through July each year. An end of the season swimming party at the public pool is also provided at no charge, to all team members and their families. To sign children up for T-Ball, parents obtain a registration form here or at City Hall during the months of March and April. No Score is kept at these games so everyone is a winner !
T-Ball and Youth Baseball Schedule
Baseball
The Sports Complex is the home field for several Mineral Area Baseball Association Baseball Teams. Ages range from 7 to 18. Each team is independently coached and sponsored. Practice begins in April. Watch the local media sources for time and tryout information.
Horseshoe Tournaments
The Mineral Area Horseshoe Association sponsors tournaments on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. throughout the year. The indoor arena is located at the Sports Complex. Participants draw for partners. There is a $5.00 fee and trophies are awarded.
Swimming Pool
The large 50' x 150' pool features a one-meter diving board. Hours are
noon to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on
Sundays. Admission is $1.00 per person. Private parties may be scheduled from 5:30-7:30 and 7:45-9:45 p.m. for a
fee of $60.00 (large parties over 100 people will need an additional
lifeguard, add $15). Concessions are available during public swimming
hours. Discount passes are available at City Hall. To reserve a private
party, call City Hall 431-3577.
Soccer
Haney Park, along Crane Street offers four fields where Kindergarten through eighth-graders play city recreational league soccer from late August to early November. League sign-up begins just prior to the beginning of the school year. Enrollment forms for soccer are available at City Hall and area schools.
Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration
In December the Chamber of Commerce and the City will host a community tree-lighting celebration at the Farmer's Market. The program will consist of singing and holiday greetings. Santa will arrive by fire truck to hear wish-lists and pose with children for pictures. (Bring your camera.) Hot chocolate will be served. Please dress warmly.
City Facts
The city was formed through an unique four-way merger, allowed by the Missouri legislature in January 1994. The residents of Flat River, Elvins, Esther and the village of Rivermines voted for consolidation into the new city of Park Hills to strengthen economic development.
United States Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Darrell Cole was born July 20, 1920 in Flat River (now part of Park Hills), Missouri. He attended high school in Esther, Missouri (now part of Park Hills) graduating in 1938. The second USS Cole (DDG-67), an Arleigh Burke-class Aegis-equipped guided missile destroyer was named for Sergeant Cole.
