Community Policing

The Police Department serves the city with a designated school safety officer. Business managers can call our business officer, Detective Kurtz with routine security questions pertaining to assets and commercial operations. The department provides information for teens, and methods to help secure your computer. You can also learn of ways to safeguard your family, and to protect your home. Please report any suspicious eletronic solicitations aimed at children immediately. If you wish to receive e-mail notice of sex offenders re-locating near you, click here to receive reports from the State Highway Patrol. Check the Missouri Sex Offender Registration List regarding adults involved in the activities of your children. Departmental Overview

In 2008 the police department responded to 13,906 calls for service. This is down 8.4% from 2007 when we responded to 15,178 calls for service. The 2011 Uniform Crime Report for Park Hills may be viewed by clicking here.

The department patrolled approximately 130,000 miles, made 1,499 traffic stops and 1,201 arrests. This included 152 narcotic related arrests, 45 D.W.I. arrests, 48 for stealing and 13 for burglary. The department worked 176 vehicle accidents, and no fatal crashes. The police department issued 1,973 tickets through the Municipal Court.

We received a block grant through the Department of Public Safety, and also received a $10,000.00 piece of equipment through the CEDAP Grant which is funded through Homeland Security. The 2009 statistical report is available through the F.B.I.

The Park Hills Police Department consists of thirteen full time police officers and several part-time officers. The police department is headed by Chief William D. Holloway, a 35 year veteran to law enforcement. We patrol over 60 miles of city roadways and cover approximately 20 square miles. The police department is very community oriented and takes an active approach to law enforcement by educating local youth about the dangers of drug abuse, domestic violence, and stranger danger as well as promoting positive community activities. All of these programs have proven to be extremely valuable to the community.
