About the Park Hills Fire DepartmentThe Park Hills Fire Department was formed on January 1, 1994. It was formed from three existing Fire Departments when the towns of Elvins, Esther, Flat River and Rivermines, Missouri consolidated to form the new City of Park Hills, Missouri. We serve a municipal population of 8,250 and a rural population of approximately 6,000. We are funded by the City of Park Hills. We offer fire protection contracts in the surrounding rural area to offset some of the expense incurred by the City. We currently have a roster of 23 volunteers. Our command structure consists of a Chief, an Assistant Chief, two Captains, and two Lieutenants. We operate out of two engine houses. We have earned an ISO rating of five. Park Hills is one of 12 Departments in St. Francois County. All departments are dispatched from a Central Dispatch Center located in Park Hills. St. Francois County has a very active Mutual Aid Agreement. All Departments are involved in various 1st Alarm assignments involving Mutual Aid from various departments, according to type of alarm and location. Municipal Code Chapter 200 authorizes 45 volunteer firefighters. The department currently seeks to add volunteer personnel through an application and training process. Applications may be requested from the Fire Chief or the offices of City Hall. The Fire Department equipment
